TIP OF THE WEEK
Adding credit to the ‘relationship account’.

When we start out together our relationship blossoms with all the ‘nice’ things we  think about, say or do for each other.
We are putting credit into our ‘relationship account’. These credits quickly mount up to provide a buffer of good feelings to fall back on during those occasional moments of disagreement.
As our relationship matures we become more certain of each other and may begin to take for granted all those little things we did in the early days. Our contribution to the credit balance dwindles and we may find increasing withdrawals taking place!
Then we notice our balance is insufficient to cope with a major problem and we may find  the relationship account is overdrawn or worse still bankrupt.
So here’s a way to build up the credit balance and spend some time playing together to confirm your deeper feelings for each other.
This is the
‘No ,I’d rather ...; ‘Yes, and then let’s ....’ game. Played in two parts;
A. “Let’s go for a walk”. B “No,I’d rather...  Watch TV”. A “How about visiting some friends?” B “No, I’d rather ... Stay at home!”
Stop this part before you lose the will to live and move on to part two.
A “Let’s go for a walk”. B “Yes! And then let’s ... find some trees to climb!”
A “How about visiting John & Jane?” B “Yes! And then lets ... go on to the seaside for an ice cream!”
The trick here is to see just how silly you can make the “And then let’s” When you can no longer talk through the laughter you can stop. This turns into a good game to enliven the family at Christmas too.
